Spiritual Practice - from Eastern Hills Ministry and Counsel:

STOP

I sometimes hear Quakers or attenders say that Meeting for Worship on First Day is a welcome respite from the week’s demands and urgencies. They relish being able to sit quietly during that time.

If this is you, and First Day is the only day that you allow yourself to sit quietly and open to the silence, you are cheating yourself.

At least once every day this month, stop. Sit. Quietly. Do nothing except to open yourself to God’s presence. For at least five minutes.

Quiet body.

Quiet mind.

Quiet heart.

Don’t say that you don’t have time. You have all the time there is.
